I’m here at the Freedom for Family Wellness conference, which is being held at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, Virginia. (Just outside of Washington, D.C.)
My workshop is tomorrow, November 13, at 12:30: Your Baby, Your Way: Holistic Advocacy for a Natural Birth
How can health practitioners best support moms and moms-to-be? This hands-on, interactive workshop will reveal the best pregnancy and birth practices, giving providers and parents the tools they need for effective communication and how to avoid common mistakes providers sometimes make with pregnant women.
My talk is Friday, November 14 at 1:30 in the Grand Ballroom: The Business of Pregnancy and Childbirth
Why does the United States have higher infant and maternal mortality rates than other industrialized countries? Award-winning investigative journalist Jennifer Margulis will expose how practices during pregnancy, childbirth and early infancy in the United States may not be based on the best evidence or the most modern science. This session will include resources to assist parents in making the informed choices encountered during the first years of a baby’s life and how to put baby’s needs over corporate interests.
I’m in good company:
