On the road again. We’re leaving this morning for Portland, Oregon for book research. I’m going to interview an immunologist for the book that I’m writing right now.
Heather Zwickey is a Yale-trained scientist who is currently Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the National University of Natural Medicine and Director of the Helfgott Research Institute, has done original research to develop vaccines. Zwickey earned her Ph.D. in immunology and microbiology from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and did a postdoc at Yale Medical School.
She has invited me to interview her in Portland.
ETA: You can read more about that book research interview here.
And more about why people don’t want you to read about that interview here.
The book I’m writing right now is called The Business of Baby. It will be published by Scribner in 2013.
Seems like a long way off but it’s not. The manuscript is due in 18 months. I’m hoping to have it done sooner.
I will also be going to Iceland and Norway for book research.
My traveling companions this time are a 12-month-old baby and an 11-year-old older sister.
The plot thickens: the employee who embezzled money from the Ashland Food Co-op contacted me. She would like to tell me her side of the story. On the way back from Portland I’m hoping we can make a stop to interview her in person.
