Kamy Wicoff will be in Ashland next weekend, Sunday, December 13, 2009.
The CEO and Founder of SheWrites, Kamy is a forward-thinking author and entrepreneur who supports and promotes women writers.
We’ll be meeting for coffee to talk about writing at Noble Coffee Roasters on 4th Street near A Street in Ashland, Oregon at 10:00 a.m. There is a lot of talent in our small town, and many notable writers, filmmakers, artists, and other creatives.
As much as our society now understands the importance of empowering women, there is a disconnect between ideas and actions. Women, even when they are more accomplished, articulate, and qualified than men, often take a back seat. We know, theoretically, that women deserve as much recognition as men for their achievements. But that knowledge doesn’t translate into action. Women writers, like women in all fields, do not earn comparable amounts of money as male writers. This needs to change.
Any local women writers are welcome to join us.
