My husband and I will be hosting an evening with bestselling writer Hope Edelman, who will be stopping in Ashland as part of a book tour for her new book that was just released … yesterday.
The event (at our house) is free and open to the public, but you must RSVP to attend.
Here’s what one magazine has said about the Possibility of Everything:
…a charming memoir full of self-deprecating honesty that defies easy categorization. The book is equal parts meditation on the trials of motherhood and marriage, a travelogue and an exploration of faith, which Edelman braids together into a highly readable, insight-laden narrative.” ~Publisher’s Weekly, starred review
I first met Hope Edelman when she submitted a story for the book I was editing, Toddler: Real-Life Stories of Those Fickle, Irrational, Urgent, Tiny People We Love. Her story is about juggling the impossible: A husband who is founding a start-up tech company and is gone all the time, and a toddler.
My oldest two are 19 months apart and I went back to work (as a visiting assistant professor at Emory University, where I earned my Ph.D.) when my oldest was not yet six weeks old. I hated leaving my newborn. It was like going to work without one of my limbs. I could relate to the chaos, emotion, and challenges Hope Edelman describes in her piece.
Hope Edelman is best known for her New York Times bestselling memoir, Motherless Daughters, which describes the heartbreak she experienced when her mom died of cancer when she was just 16 years old.
If you click on this link about The Possibility of Everything, you can see a video trailer about the book (as well as buy it on Amazon.)

Oh, I love her work and wish I could be there! Since I can’t, I am hopping right over to Amazon to order the book, if I can’t find it at our local bookstore right away. Thanks for sharing this news. What an honor for you.
