Hawaii! The only state made up of islands. And the only state in the Pacific Ocean. It’s amazing to fly so far, land in Hawaii, and see road signs just like in the United States, even though you’re so far away from the mainland. My daughter Athena and I are on Hawaii’s Big Island working on a family travel writing assignment.
We head to Kauai at the end of this week.
A lot to cover in a small space of time.
Yesterday we visited Volcanoes National Park and we were away from 6:00 a.m. until after 7:00 p.m. Every day is packed with activities.
I’ll try to check-in but limited email access means I’m not updating this blog very often.
If anyone wonders why you haven’t heard from me, now you know!
But since you’re already here, you might as well stay awhile. So much to read and learn. So if you still feel like clicking around, how about:
- 7 ways to make family travel more enjoyable.
- Free things to do in Hawaii! The sites minus the sticker shock. This is an article I wrote for The Oregonian: Hawaii on the cheap.
- Find your non-stop flights to Maui from Portland on Alaska Airlines. Sweet!
